Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder is a common culprit for shoulder pain especially for those in the 40-60 year age bracket. The symptoms of frozen shoulder are more common in women with them suffering 70% of cases.

The mechanism of the shoulder ‘freezing’ involves a thickening of the shoulder capsule and development of scar tissue, limiting movement and causing pain.

This is how the scientific name ‘adhesive capsulitis’ is derived. The cause of this capsular thickening is not certain but links to lack of mobility and activity such as post-surgery and poor desk postures definitely can play a part in its development.

At Brisbane Posture and Performance, we aim to assist in posture improvement and enable every client to achieve maximum levels of mobility. Contact Dr Kyle (Chiropractor) to see how he can assist you today.
